How to make homemade bars of soap
#v16097
Make your own handmade bars of soap in beautiful colours using clear and white soap base. Melt the soap base either in a water bath or in the microwave. You will need 50 g soap base per finished square of soap. The amount of soap dye paste depends on how strong you want the colour. The clear soap base needs less soap dye paste than the white soap base. Place your bar of soap in a soap dish, allowing it to dry out between each use.

1 You will need 50 g soap base per finished square of soap in the mould. Weigh 150 g soap base and cut into chunks. We recommend you use gloves when melting the soap base.
2 Wash the mould and spray it with rubbing alcohol. Wipe it well to make sure it's completely dry prior to use.
3 You can melt the soap base either in a water bath or in a microwave. Melt in the microwave with 30 second intervals at 80% power and stir between each interval to prevent heat damage.
4 Pour the molten soap into the mould. Remove any air bubbles from the surface by spraying with rubbing alcohol.
5 When dyeing white soap base: Melt 150 g soap base as described in step 3. Colour the molten soap by adding 2 cm soap dye paste and stir well.
9 Use a smaller amount of soap dye paste when dyeing clear soap. Melt 150 g clear soap base to make three bars of soap and add 1 cm soap dye paste.
