A Pumpkin Lantern made from a Rice Paper Lamp

1.   Tear long strips and small pieces of tissue paper. Use one sheet of each colour.

2.   Apply decoupage lacquer to the rice paper lamp – apply only to a small area at a time. Attach the pieces of tissue paper and apply another coat of decoupage lacquer on top of the attached pieces of tissue paper. Continue until the rice paper lamp is completely covered with tissue paper and leave it to dry.

3.   Cut facial expressions from black Kraft paper – use your imagination. Use decoupage lacquer for attaching the facial expressions onto the rice paper lamp.

4.   Cut long pieces of crepe paper streamers from the roll and tie the streamers onto the metal wire at the bottom of the rice paper lamp. Attach a piece of cotton cord at the top for hanging.
